Namibian Entry Requirements

To visit Namibia foreign nationals must be in possession of a passport that is valid for at least six months after date of entry. A visa is required from all visitors except nationals of countries with which Namibia has the necessary visa abolition agreement.

Border posts between Namibia and South Africa, (Ariamsvlei and Noordoewer) are open 24 hours per day. The Transkalahari border post, Buitepos between Namibia and Botswana is open daily from 06:00 to 23:00. The Mata-Mata border post is open daily 08:30 – 15:30. The Sendelingsdrift border post is open daily 08:00 – 15:30.

  • A copy of your motor vehicle registration
  • Passport/Visa
  • South African or international drivers license
  • If from South Africa a ZA sticker that can be obtained from any AA office in South Africa
